My Personal Proof of God.
Evolution?
Certainly, through various scientific methods of experimentation and observation, the basic theory of evolution is, in fact, valid. But evolution cannot, in any means, be the source of life, as people often make it out to be. Evolution does exist however.
Animals and humans alike all adapt to their surroundings – often the changes in the animal kingdom can be quite drastic. This is the theory of evolution at work. The findings of Darwin from his studies of the Galapagos Islands are indeed valid and are scientifically accurate.
But it cannot be the source of life as we know it.
Body systems are so incredibly complicated and intricate, it is impossible for them to have evolved over time from simpler systems. The organs that make up a body system certainly cannot sustain themselves, or even function, without all of the other organs doing their part as well. Any creature would die if it did not have a heart – or a liver – or a kidney – or a spleen, all working in synchronous harmony. Life is irreducibly complex. In order for animals to reproduce and sustain themselves, they must function perfectly on their own. It is simply not possible for evolution to be the source of life.
So where DID life originate from?
Let’s take the big bang theory–the precursor to life-originating evolution–and let’s say, for this essay’s sake, that it is correct. Any plausible theory that makes any logical since involves matter, some way or another, as the world as we know it is composed of matter. This matter is changed, moved, morphed, or arranged somehow and *poof* we have that magical spark that is life, and from there on out, we have what we have today.
Now think for a moment… where did that matter originate from? Where did the energy necessary for any kind of movement, reaction, etc. come from? It had to have been created/placed there somehow. But matter cannot generate more matter from itself or cause itself into being. Nor can energy. So where did it come from?
The only logical explanation is a something else. And that something else must be created by something else. This infinite loop is the only answer.
Let’s get a bit more technical with this. In mathematical terms, everything must have started from something. Zero cannot by multiplied in any way to equal anything but itself, zero. This proves that there most have been something here to begin with which could generate this matter. Something is infinitely greater than nothing. Zero cannot equal Infinity. Infinity equals infinity – nothing else can. There is no other logical explanation. So our universe originated from an infinity. But what is this infinity?
This infinity is a Creator.
But who created this Creator then?
Infinity is, by it’s nature, only capable of rendering infinity. The Creator is not only infinite, He is infinitely infinite. His infinity is the source of his Infiniteness. He is the source of His own power, the “perfectly efficient machine”, and the end of the equation. He is the infinite beginning and the infinite end to all things, and the only logical explanation.
This is a Creator who is omnipotent, omniscient, an omniinfinite. A Creator who is infinite in majesty, power, and grace. The epitome of infinite perfection.
This is God.
And that is why I call him Lord.
And that is why I have devoted my life to bring glory unto his name.
